Built as an investment by Delos A. Blodgett, a western Michigan lumber baron and capitalist, the wholesale mercantile and office building is a broad, six-story, cream brick structure with round, segmental, and square-headed windows trimmed with terra-cotta and stone. It is noteworthy for its rich, exuberant detailing and for its original cast-iron storefront columns.
