Platted in 1866 and named for the stand of trees on the high ground between the river bayous, The Grove is distinctive among Saginaw's neighborhoods because of its parklike setting. It is surrounded by Hoyt and Ezra Rust parks, Lake Linton, and Ojibway Island in the Saginaw River. The ample residential lots with deep setbacks and mature trees seem to be parks within a park. The Grove is a special blend of residential and nonresidential uses.
