Dagen’s Grocery (Ole Johnson and Son Hotel and Store)
Dagen’s Grocery housed the first post office in town, and a hotel, store, and cream and egg station. The exterior of the store is clad in pressed metal, while the adjacent cream and egg station has false-brick asphalt covering. Both buildings are especially rich in historic enameled-metal signage. As a social center for many years, Dagen’s has remained almost unaltered. It now serves as a seasonal local historic museum interpreting small-town commercial architecture.
