This out-of-the-way living history agricultural museum has an international reputation for preservation and specialized collections. In 1947, Dale and Martha Hawk established the museum, which includes eighteen relocated historic agricultural buildings, a church, and several Quonset sheds that contain their collection of agricultural artifacts, tools, and machinery. The museum tells the story of agricultural history on the Great Plains. When the Plains Art Museum (CS7) in Fargo relocated to the former International Harvester Branch House in 1995, the operators of the Hawk Museum disassembled and loaned a restored 1904 McCormick Daisy reaper for exhibit in the fine art museum.
