This diner was the last built by the Jerry O'Mahony Company, which had been operating in Bayonne, New Jersey, since 1914. The classic stainless-steel diner has horizontal siding and curved corners with windows along the entire facade. This diner opened as the Gateway in 1956 in Wilkins Township, Allegheny County, and operated until 1978. The diner moved to Vandergrift, Westmoreland County, in 1978, and served as a video store until 1992, when it was moved to its present location and returned to its original purpose. The building is now permanently sited, but could be moved again with a minimum of labor, simply by undoing a series of carriage bolts and loading it onto a truck.
