Although the Harrington Farm dates back to c. 1762, its present architectural distinction is its capacious, now somewhat dilapidated shingled barn dominating a hill on this farm. The barn was probably built by the Blanchard family, who purchased the farm in the mid-nineteenth century. The siting of the barn and its attached auxiliary sheds make the view from Johnson Road no more than a starting point for a structure which invites a full circuit. Foundations only remain of three silos (probably later additions) which were clustered around the entrance and once made the play of building shapes even richer.
