These adjacent cubic double houses show typical mid-nineteenth-century Italianate qualities in an engaging vernacular manner, especially in the prominently projecting entablature over windows and the same quality in the modillioned cornices. The porches of both of these are holdovers from the Greek Revival. So are the paneled corner piers in number 27–29, whereas the quoining of 31–33 is more characteristic of developed Italianate.
