Dominating this community in northeastern Lee County, the church is a simple rectangular brick structure set on a limestone foundation. Built by the second-oldest congregation in Lee County, it is the county's oldest surviving church building. Its two separate entrances on the front gable end are more characteristic of churches built earlier in the nineteenth century. The plain, but massive, structure has five-course American bond brick walls secured by four anchor bolts and is surmounted by a square pyramidal-roofed belfry with louvered vents. Windows along the sides were filled with stained glass in the 1920s.
