Dr. Thomas M. Cranfill House

This is Harris's first built commission in Texas after arriving to become dean of the School of Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin. Harris used materials different from those of his California houses while continuing his emphasis on Arts and Crafts, with cypress substituted for redwood.

Cranfill Apartments (1954) at 1911 Cliff Street is Harris's second commission for Cranfill.
