Cook's church complex exhibits the diminutive scale and articulated construction that mark his work. Its signature element is a folded-plate roof that distinguishes the church proper from lower, flat-roofed classroom and office wings. Extremely thin steel-pipe columns support a walkway canopy that surrounds three sides of the building. Two additional examples of Cook's crisp modern design are the Park Avenue Medical Center (1962) at 1301 W. Park Avenue and the former City of Orange Fire Station No. 3 (1960) at 1705 MacArthur Drive.
