Cat Spring Agriculture Society Pavilion
This twelve-sided dance hall is one of several polygonal social halls, three of them built by Hintz (PF58) in Austin County, and was documented for HABS. The agricultural society, Texas's oldest, was founded in 1856 for the practical exchange of information by local immigrant farmers to discover, by trial and error, which crops were best suited to the soil and climate. Social functions, including dances, barbeques, chili cook-offs, and antique shows are still held in the building.
