This museum hotel was the first newly constructed building for the Louisville, Kentucky–based, 21C chain, which is known for its repurposing of historic buildings. The building is composed of two rectilinear forms: the 12,000-square-foot building that comprises the art gallery, a restaurant, and a lounge, and behind it is the four-story hotel. Both the gallery unit and the hotel are clad in dark gray brick, with stucco details, and the gallery has a generously sized glass lobby. The art gallery, which is composed of several differently sized rooms, has white walls and a polished concrete floor.
