One complete anomaly on the base is the Kashim Club, built as an enlisted men's club (and named after the traditional Eskimo ceremonial dwelling). Probably to emphasize the informality of the club, the building was constructed of logs, sawn flat on three sides. A stone chimney on an end wall added to the rustic nature. The club closed in early 2012 and was subsequently demolished.
