Pleasant DeSpain School

Originally constructed in vernacular Romanesque Revival style as a single-story red brick building, this school building was modified at the time of a later addition to include Craftsman elements and was faced with beige brick accented in red. The addition doubled the space and added indoor plumbing to the school, named for 1871 homesteader Pleasant DeSpain. An educational complex that developed to the north and east includes Westminster's first high school (1929) and a junior high school (1949).
