This pair of elegantly detailed modernist hotel buildings, reminiscent of James Stirling's Ham Common (1957), was designed by New York architect Phil Ives for what had previously been an open pasture south of Francis Street. Tennis courts and a landscape by Peter G. Rolland create an environment entirely removed from the historic area.
