This group of four houses, vaguely Italianate (though some obvious remodeling has taken place, as on number 9227), was constructed by the local brickyard owner, a native of New Zealand, who built them as speculation. Row house duplications like this are unusual for northern Virginia at the turn of the twentieth century.
