Frontier Texas!

Frontier Texas! is an “edutainment experience” using technology to present the history of the Texas frontier: Indians, cowboys, soldiers, buffalo hunters, and settlers. The facility is also a visitor center for Abilene and for the Texas Forts Trail, which promotionally links all frontier forts in the region. Recalling the industrial character of this corner of downtown, the design uses thick brick walls supporting metal roofs for the structures that enclose a large open space to recall a fort parade ground.
