Blackstock-O'Leary Elementary School

This Neoclassical school building is symmetrical in design, flanked by perpendicular flat-roofed wings on its west side. Yellow brick provides a good background for the red tile cross-gable roof and the terracotta trim, seen in relief banding and sills, molded cornices, and entry surrounds. Paired entrances are offset in the side wings, topped by round-arched transoms and flanked by fluted columns with Corinthian capitals. Brick detailing appears in corbeled, arcaded friezes on the gable ends, recessed banding in the base, and corner piers.
