Town Hall (Opera House–Armory)
Three 9-foot-high doors distinguish the brick facade of this stone opera house with a 16-by-22-foot stage. Sandstone keystones ornament the arched openings, while large timber trusses installed after an 1886 roof collapse support the main hall, which now has two wings. The Pitkin Guards of the state militia headquartered here, but the building also served for shows, dances, and as a roller skating rink. Most recently it has been a community center and the town hall.
