Visitors' Center (Pullman Car Marcia)
Beneath a drab, Pullman green exterior lies the exquisite private rail car of tycoon David H. Moffat, now protected by a Carpenter's Gothic train shed (1992, Robert Ralston). The car, donated by the D&RG to Craig in 1953, has African mahogany wood-work even for the berths tucked into the ceiling above stained and leaded glass windows, which are particularly fine in the water closet. Notable appointments include large leather chairs and couches, a ceiling-mounted brass compass, copper chandeliers, and a portrait of Moffat. With its observation platform, dining room, private rooms, servants' quarters, kitchen, and trunk room, this is a mansion on wheels which Moffat named for his daughter.
