Montezuma Valley National Bank

-A A +A
1907. Northeast corner of Main and Market sts.
  • (Carol M. Highsmith Archive, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division)

Wearing the classical garb preferred by bankers, this symmetrical, one-story building of rough-faced sandstone boasts decorative stamped metal for the banding and the corner entry pediment. This sedate bank slips out of character inside, where it revels in chandeliers and red flocked wallpaper.
