Society's concern with the health of its poorest members is celebrated in this two-story stuccoed cinderblock monument, whose sloping walls accented with glazed tile, buttresses, deep reveals around small windows, and red tile roofs honor the Central American heritage of the surrounding Chicano neighborhood.
