Milheim House

-A A +A
1893. 1515 Race St.

This two-and-one-half-story house of red pressed brick was moved in 1989 from 1355 Pennsylvania Street. The current owners acquired John Milheim's house for a song on the eve of its scheduled demolition. They spent almost $400,000 to transport the 583-ton structure seventeen blocks and replant the early four-square. Its exterior embellishments look back to the Queen Anne Style, as does the exquisite original wood-work inside.
