Uncompahgre Valley Water Users Association Offices (U.S. Bureau of Reclamation)

-A A +A
U.S. Bureau of Reclamation
1905. 601 N. Park Ave. (NR)

Disguised as an overgrown four-square in deference to the surrounding residential neighborhood, this two-and-one-half-story office building housed some of the first U.S. Bureau of Reclamation workers in Colorado. The large turbine drum on the front lawn is a souvenir of one of the bureau's first major projects—the Gunnison Tunnel ( MO16; 1909).
