Morgan County Courthouse

A central, flat-topped tower and two-story pilasters with stepped capitals surmounting the plain parapets distinguish this vertical Art Deco composition in blond brick with terracotta insets. Inside, offices on a linear plan flank a central hall with terrazzo floors. This trim Moderne monument replaced a more ornate Beaux-Arts courthouse (1906, Thomas Barber), part of which it incorporates.
