Lustron Houses

1949–1951

There are six Lustron houses in Iowa City, and one in Coralville ( CE321). All of them were built between 1949 and 1952. The Iowa City examples are: the Bartley house (1950), a gray model with an attached garage at 1815 East Court Street; the Witterman house (1950), another gray model, at 627 Third Avenue; the Graham house (1951), at 705 Clark Street, a green version; the Spriestersbach house (1951), a gray house at 709 Clark Street; the McGuire house (1949), a house with a yellow exterior, at 805 Melrose Avenue; and the Mickey house (1950), another gray Lustron house at 29 Prospect Place.
