Cottage

-A A +A
c. 1872 and later. Southwest corner of 4th St. S.E. and 3rd Ave. S.E.

This is one of those small-scaled domestic designs that are the result of an additive process, but the changes have been so well handled it is difficult to single out any one. It would seem that it all started with a little one-and-a-half-story, board-and-batten Gothic Revival cottage. Along the way the building acquired a stout wood and masonry Craftsman porch (c. 1910).
