Defining the curve of Cambridge Street opposite City Hall Plaza, 1 Center Plaza succeeds most as an element of urbanism. The nine-story, brick and cast-concrete facade mimics the surviving element of the nearby Sears Crescent (GC17). Two modest portals allow access to what remains of Pemberton Square and to the John Adams Courthouse (GC20), above and behind the building.
