Bosque Insurance Agency (IOOF Hall)

-A A +A
1896. 116 N. Main St.

This former Independent Order of Odd-fellows fraternal order building has a two-story Mesker Brothers pressed metal storefront, decorated with arabesques in relief and topped by a central pediment. Only one corner cast-iron pilaster remains, although two others may be covered by brick.

Another Mesker Brothers storefront (wood window components replaced with aluminum) is nearby at 106 Morgan Street. The one-story building (c. 1900) has tall cast-iron pilasters that rise to a multilevel “entablature” of pattered bands, topped in the center with a raised sign panel.
