Enterprise Tower–Bank of America (First State Bank)

-A A +A
1984, 3D/International, with Boone and Pope. 500 Chestnut St.

At twenty stories, the former First State Bank is the tallest building in Abilene. Alternating horizontal bands of tawny brick and gray glass are layered into a relentless image, typical of 1980s office buildings, and barely eased by the solidly walled west end, which terminates and anchors the bands. On the north side, a stepped five-story atrium is lit by clerestories.
