The three-story Gray County Courthouse is undeniably classical, yet Kaufman described the building as Georgian. Above a rusticated terra-cotta base, the classical orders are rendered as buff brick pilasters, and oversized windows belie the expected classical proportions. Like the White Deer Land Company (TP25), the courthouse exhibits a creative adaptation of conventional classical forms. The courthouse was rehabilitated with funding from the Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program.
