Adrian

Adrian was founded on the River Raisin in 1826 by Addison J. Comstock, who, with his father, Darius, projected the construction of the Erie and Kalamazoo Railroad from Toledo to Adrian. The county seat was moved from Tecumseh to Adrian in 1838.
