  • Pieta Chapel (Chapel on the Mount) (David Gebhard and Gerald Mansheim)

On the hill overlooking the town is the Pieta Chapel, a small stone Gothic Revival chapel with an entrance tower. Along the pathway winding up the hill to the church are the 14 stations of the cross, built in 1861, under the church's first leader, Father Michel Flamming. Across the valley on the sloping hill can be seen another church, the German Lutheran Church, constructed in 1918. Its format is that of a twin-towered and spired masonry Gothic church.
