Elmer and Jenny Heath House

The varied gabled roofline, the conical tower, and the rich texture of the clapboard and shingle siding of the Heath house demonstrate the persistence of the Queen Anne style throughout Michigan. This house is a showplace of decorative techniques. The gables are stuccoed with pebble dash, including broken china crockery and glass, and the wood decorations in the peaks, which depict cherubs and foliation, were carved by Jenny Heath. Her husband, Elmer, was a hardware merchant.
