Leander R. Peck School

This red brick Tudor Revival structure housed the high school after it had outgrown the single room allotted for it in the town hall. The building was donated to the town by Sarah Gould Peck in memory of her husband. Sarah and Leander were parents of Frederick S. Peck, the builder of Belton Court (BA5). The two buildings have in common patronage, architect, and, in general terms, stylistic source. When the high school moved again to a modernist building on Lincoln Avenue in the 1940s, the public library left the town hall for the school.
