Apart from the Hotel Roanoke, the area's most impressive Tudor Revival building is this house built for William C. Stephenson, cofounder of an insurance company. A stone base, imitation half-timbering, multipaned casement windows, overhangs, and multiple gables give this large but picturesque dwelling an air of stability and longevity, qualities an insurance man would appreciate.
