Downtown Morgantown

-A A +A

Morgantown's commercial core, immediately southeast of the university's downtown campus, is remarkably intact and well defined. Although many structures show numerous alterations at street level, lessening the integrity of their original design, they prove that this has long been a vibrant commercial area. Recent restorations of a number of significant buildings attest to downtown's continuing vitality. As might be expected, architects working simultaneously on university buildings up the hill also had commissions here.
