St. James Episcopal Church

-A A +A
1912, William H. Irwin Fleming. Later alterations. 81 Culpeper St.

Building on the foundations of a church destroyed by fire, Fleming employed the Gothic Revival style, but kept the scale suitably residential in character. The architect specified a pebble dash stucco on the exterior, but recent renewal makes it appear as if covered with caramel candy.
