Physician Malouf Abraham and his wife, Therese, acquired the old First Baptist Church in 1977, which had been standing vacant for a few years, and converted it into their residence. The red brick classical church is Georgian in flavor, with a pedimented front portico supported on two pairs of Ionic columns. The roof is capped with an open balustrade. In subsequent years, the Abrahams purchased eight surrounding residential properties to house their growing art collection. A 1,400-square-foot gallery was added in 2009 to house temporary exhibitions. The center also includes gardens designed by Dr. Abraham.
