Rio Grande Transportation Center

-A A +A
1990, Rogers-Nagel-Langhart with Gibson and Reno. Southeast corner of Mill and Bleeker sts.

Beneath a clock tower, this design minimizes four levels of below-grade parking behind a gabled facade reminiscent of the D&RG railroad terminal that originally sat here. The garage borrows its overhanging roof and red brick and stone facade from nearby historic structures. The transportation hub, which accommodates autos, buses, and a bike trail, opens onto a civic plaza.
