Metro Operations Control Center

The Metro Operations Control Center exudes a purely modern and functional air, much like the underground Metro system it operates. The eight stories are divided by protruding concrete shelves, all punctured by concrete columns that rise through the building's full height. Bands of dark windows are recessed behind the columns. The upper floors house offices, while the basement levels contain computers, a parking garage, and a revenue collection area. The penthouse structure encloses the building's mechanical systems and refrigeration equipment for several nearby subway stations. The building occupies a whole city block and stands aloof from its historical surroundings.
