Jamie Baker and Cliff Bowers House

-A A +A
1956, Cliff Bowers. 2208 Hanson St.

This owner-built ranch house shows a refreshing mixture of propriety and innovation. The exterior largely follows expected lines with its single-story height, stretched Roman-tile bricks, rounded corner detail, and carport extension supported by decorative iron lattice, while the interior features a dramatic sunken living room with an even more dramatic convex ceiling hanging down toward the center of the room, covered with a thick layer of textured stucco.
