Stylistically this is the usual mixture encountered in commercial buildings of the 1880s—the Italianate, the Eastlake, and the Queen Anne. The ironwork was by the Iowa City firm of Maresh and Holubar. The building was restored in 1979 by the architectural firm of Hansen Lind Meyer.
