Bergstrom International Airport (Barbara Jordan Passenger Terminal)

-A A +A
Barbara Jordan Passenger Terminal
2001, PageSoutherlandPage and Lawrence W. Speck Associates. 1600 Presidential Blvd.

The terminal is part of a retrofit of the former Bergstrom Air Force Base into the municipal airport. This collaborative design is bold and functional, making for one of the most efficient recent airports in the country. The steel, stone, and glass building materials and native landscaping reflect the Central Texas vernacular vocabulary and are complemented by interior airport muzak of Texas singer-songwriters welcoming travelers to Austin.
