These houses responded to home owners' interest in affordable modern dwellings. The architect-developer firm incorporated unconventional materials with expressive roof forms and plans that appealed to young first-time home buyers. The houses put this new architectural firm on the front lines of design in Austin and influenced several single-family and duplex residences across the city built in the early twenty-first century.
