Woodlands United Methodist Church

-A A +A
2001, Lancaster and Associates. 2200 Lake Woodlands Dr.

This enormous complex, clustered around a domed church seating 2,500 worshippers, is Mediterranean themed. The imposition of a dome, clear axes of movement and view, and a historical architectural theme indicates the effort to construct clarity and connectedness in a community where everyone is from someplace else. From the Lake Woodlands Drive bridge over Lake Woodlands, the four-story One CB&I Plaza of 2003 by HOK at 2103 Research Forest Drive stands out on the north shore.
