Emerald House

-A A +A
1889–1891. Fairgrounds Park, Avenue A

Erected by an unknown owner and builder, this one-story, L-shaped frame house with gable roofs once stood in Emerald, Ozona’s chief rival for designation as county seat. Relocated to central Ozona in the 1890s, it was moved to the county’s Fairgrounds Park in 1981. The sawn lumber of the house’s board-and-batten walls was brought by train.
