History House (Terra Alta Bank)

-A A +A
Terra Alta Bank
1893, Gakes Brother and Sharp (contractors). North corner of E. Washington and Latrobe sts.

This three-story brick building has impressive cast iron features—first-floor storefront, window lintels, and bracketed cornice—that provide an Italianate character. One of Terra Alta's largest commercial structures, the former bank is now the property of the Preston County Historical Society, which uses the premises for exhibits and meetings.
