Wheeling Vicinity

Northeast of the city, Bethany Pike (West Virginia 88), Waddles Run Road (Ohio County 15), and Boggs Hill Road (Ohio County 40/1 and 15/1) climb steep slopes above the National Road–Wheeling Creek corridor to emerge along ridges. Although the area has experienced suburban growth in the twentieth century, several notable houses that proclaim Ohio County's rural beginnings remain.
