While many late-nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century frame churches in the region have succumbed to aluminum or vinyl siding, Pine Grove Church retains its painted white weatherboards and many of its original details. The rectangular gable-roofed Gothic Revival building has pointed-arched windows and a tall bell tower with a louvred belfry. The church was built for a Methodist Episcopal congregation, but was also used by other congregations until the mid-twentieth century. The simple church sharply contrasts with its modern neighbor, a gas station, and with the fast-food facility adjacent to I-77.
